The challenge of legal compliance
When business decisions affect the existing internal infrastructure, or when such decisions are followed by structural alterations, the question of applicable legal requirements and the resulting obligations inevitably arises.
You can find out how to identify the relevant legal obligations from existing regulations here.
If you have any questions about the legal register, our contact person will be happy to assist you:

Thanks for our long-standing collaboration
At the annual celebration organised by the group comprising QUBUS Planung und Beratung Oberflächentechnik GmbH and IFO Institut für Oberflächentechnik GmbH, two female employees were honoured for their long-standing service. Manuela Friedrich and Agnes Schmidt have both been with the group for 20 years and have been part of the organisations almost since their inception. The management expressed their sincere thanks for their long-standing collaboration and support.

New plant documentation required under Section 43 of the AwSV
Section 43 of the new Ordinance on the Handling of Substances Hazardous to Water – AwSV – sets out the requirements for facility documentation.
The authorities now require information on the layout and boundaries of the installations, the substances used, the design and materials, safety equipment and protective measures, fire-fighting water retention and structural stability.
QUBUS Planning and Consultancy for Surface Technology supports your company in preparing the new plant documentation in accordance with AwSV.
Please give us a call. We’d be happy to discuss the individual steps involved in a streamlined and pragmatic implementation with you.

Recurring explosion-proof testing
Although paint shop facilities are not, in themselves, installations requiring monitoring, the explosion-protected zones (Ex zones) contained within them do give rise to documentation and inspection obligations. By checking just a few key points, any operator can verify whether the facility complies with the requirements.
You can find out what changes have been made to the regulations and what you need to bear in mind here.
If you have any questions regarding the explosion-proof testing, the Environment, Fire Safety and Health and Safety Department will be happy to assist you.

A Christmas tradition at QUBUS and IFO
Every year at Christmas time, QUBUS and IFO in Schwäbisch Gmünd not only have a large Christmas tree in the entrance hall, but the much sought-after collectable mugs also adorn our foyer for a short time each year. A sense of eager anticipation spreads when the hard-working trainees, on behalf of the management, hand out the designer coffee mugs from Ritzenhoff to the staff at QUBUS and IFO. Many long-serving colleagues already boast a considerable collection of these colourful mugs, and the brightly coloured boxes are a sure sign that Christmas is just round the corner and the year is drawing to a close.
After an eventful year, we are looking forward to a peaceful festive season. We would also like to wish you – our customers, partners and prospective clients – a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.

ZVO Introductory Seminar on Electroplating and Surface Treatment Technology
The ZVO Basic Seminar on Electroplating and Surface Technology took place on 19–21 November 2019 at the IFO and QUBUS premises. With this 2½-day introductory seminar, the ZVO offers an opportunity to refresh or improve one’s fundamental knowledge of electroplating and surface engineering. We are delighted with the positive feedback, the interesting technical questions and the success of the event. The next basic seminar will take place from 21 to 23 April 2020 or from 27 to 29 October 2020. Further information is available here at the Seminar leaflet.

Quick check for measures in plant and process engineering
Criteria such as rising quality standards, increased cost pressures and new or stricter regulatory requirements should prompt plant operators to capitalise on the potential for optimising existing plants. Plants and processes which, at the time of procurement, still complied with recognised technical standards are often no longer scrutinised over the course of their service life.
Find out here how you can go about optimising your competitiveness: Quick check for measures in plant and process engineering – better painting
If you have any questions about realising the full potential for optimisation, the Factory and Plant Planning Department will be happy to assist you.
